Intuition?
People have been talking about intuition for thousands of years, but what is it?
Modern dictionary definitions of the term generally describe intuition as one of the following processes:
- communication between human consciousness and a higher reality or the transcendent;
- human thinking without conscious awareness of it.
Some insist on one definition of the term, others on another, but this does not affect the existence of the processes described.
And this raises a question — can intuition be measured somehow? Humanity still does not know exactly what time is, yet we have successfully measured it for thousands of years. So why should intuition be any different?
Mathematics?
Probability theory considers a "coin toss" (more precisely, the mathematical model of a coin toss) as a process in which the coin never disappears, hangs suspended in mid-air, or lands on its edge. The result of a coin toss is always one of two possibilities: it lands either heads-up or tails-up.
No matter how small a number an experimenter chooses, a coin can always be tossed enough times for the difference between 1 and the ratio of the number of heads to the number of tails to become smaller than that chosen number.
In other words, the more times you toss the coin, the closer the number of heads gets to the number of tails.
But in real life, this often does not work that way. A person "stops" and, after getting three heads in a row, refuses to toss the coin a fourth time, thereby recording an undeniably interesting result.
If those three consecutive tosses are considered as a separate experiment, everything is perfectly fine mathematically.
But suppose ten such "sessions" take place during the day, and each time exactly three heads appear. If the coin tosses throughout the entire day are considered as the separate experiment, mathematics can no longer explain the result.
The probability of such an event — 30 heads out of 30 tosses during a single day — is vanishingly small.
Can the two be combined?

A session as a separate experiment
A session is treated as a separate experiment. It is your activity on the game screen.
When you switch to another screen or close the app, the session ends. When you return to the game screen, a new session begins.
Capybara Intuition Lab assumes that an individual session can serve as a "measurement" of your current state:
- concentration;
- motivation;
- emotional state;
- and so on.
This is why sessions are deliberately treated as independent observations, with each session having equal analytical weight.
How the game works
You decide how many buttons you want to play with during a session and which mode you want to use.
The app makes its choice, and you make yours. If the choices match, the app records a hit. If they do not, it is a miss.
Unlike this probability, the numerical measure of a session is simply the ratio of the number of correct guesses to the total number of attempts made during the session.
What the app measures
The app provides you with data about:
- the number of sessions played during a day;
- the average time taken to make a decision during a day;
- the average session success rate during a day.
The randomness corridor
In addition, the app analyzes and displays a "corridor" around the mathematical probability line. It shows the range of fluctuations in results that can still be explained by chance.
As long as your success curve remains within the corridor, your result is within the range of mathematical variation.
But if that thick green curve moves outside the corridor, your result becomes much harder to explain mathematically.
How should this be understood?
Capybara Intuition Lab does not promise to develop a "sixth sense" and does not ask you to believe in supernatural abilities. But it does not deny their existence either.
Capybara Intuition Lab invites you to observe how your results change over time, regardless of whether you practice meditation, are a religious person or a mystic, or your "religion" consists of reagents, computers, and other attributes of modern science.
The central question of Capybara Intuition Lab is not:
"How well did I play?"
but:
"Is there something more than chance in my results?"
What does it look like?

Perhaps intuition is thinking without conscious awareness, or perhaps it is communication with the transcendent.
In either case, like any other skill, intuition can be developed.

Intuition without verification and conscious observation of its activity remains an immediate feeling.
But verified intuition — conscious intuition — becomes a genuine tool for a person who both feels and thinks.
